Acceptance is a journey of a young boy's emotional experience of his childhood. His want to to fit in, to not be bushed around and be teased. The core of the game is to feel saddened and emotional towards the boy who wants to feel accepted, not bullied, teased.
The game's layout is intentional designed to add more emotion and meaning towards the story. With the visual aesthetic of the game set to being dark signify sadness. The background audio is also meant to help further intensify the emotion.
As the player progresses through the game the changes to world moving away from the player is designed to signify is being harder to fit in and intensify the struggle he is going through.
